News From Penrhiw Farm

Hello! 

 An update on market whereabouts and some news from the farms.    It's the usual Rhiwbina on Fridays and Riverside on Sundays with Usk and Tonteg this Saturday followed by Caerphilly and St Fagans on Sat 12th.  Caerphilly market is part of the large Food Festival so promises to be busy.  Claire from Plant2Plate and Penrhiw are going to do a double cooking act  -  look our for our beef and lamb kebabs.  

It's been a topsy-turvy couple of weeks - one minute it was summer then back to the cold and wet of winter.  Today, we have actually turned out the rest of the calves - putting it off every day with heavy rain in the forecast.  Currently, blowing a gale with the dustbin lid rattling around the yard but the sun is shining (at last) and, with good stone walls to shelter behind, the calves will be fine.  Graham has one field of oats left to sow - working silly hours in the tiny windows of dry weather to get the other fields sown.

Whoops got the market dates wrong.  St Fagans is not on the second Sat - it the third Sat 19th May.  Graham gets a Saturday off   Oh! and I forgot to mention Graham's TV appearance on the Sam and Shauna's Big Cook Out show -episode 3.  It's on BBC iplayer and worth watching.   A fleeting glimpse of John too !!
