May 16th 2018 - latest news form Penrhiw Farm

Hello

The usual reminder of our market whereabouts (I'll try and get it right this time !) and news.  Rhiwbina on Fridays,  Riverside on Sundays with Usk and St Fagans on Saturday followed by Porthcawl the Sat after.   Usual range of meat but this week sees the first of our Spring Lamb.  Hope you will enjoy !

Arable crops are all sown on Penrhiw and Fforest - all need some warm gentle rain (terrible thing to say after all the wet stuff we had during the winter !).   All livestock are out 24 / 7 even the pampered horses who seem to spend most of their time in their stables - it is too cold, too wet and then too hot !!

Flo is going off soon to meet her "husband"  - we are hoping she will have another foal in 2019.  Hetty (her 2015 foal) is quite grown up now and will continue her education this summer.  Hopefully we will be riding her by the autumn - nothing too strenuous or demanding.

Lambing is not over yet - still 12 to go.  We are SO fed up of the early morning and late night checks.....
