Hello from a now thoroughly wet and windy Penrhiw. It's properly winter now with short days - after the daily chores of feeding, cleaning out and bedding down there is not much daylight left for anything else. John had a day off to go to the Winter Fair on Monday leaving me home to the farm chores. Peace and quiet - oh no !! Eryl, the very last cow of 2018 left to calve, decided Monday was her due day. Thank goodness we have good neighbours we can call on in time of crisis. After some huffing and puffing from us all, Eurig was born - a very bonny pedigree bull calf. Thank you Gareth !! No more early morning yard checks at Penrhiw until lambing in late January. Still no calves at Cefn Coed so the vigil continues there.
Busy market weekend ahead - the usual Cardiff markets on Friday and Sunday, Usk and Tonteg on Saturday. We are staying a bit longer in Usk on Saturday as it is the Christmas Market in the Tywn Square with Santa's Grotto in the Memorial Hall car park. Let's hope the weather is not as bad as forecast.
Busy month ahead - orders would be appreciated to help us plan .....
