The Fish Stall
Since January 2008, the market has enjoyed a fish stall run by Lee Harrison, at first from the Usk High Street Shop, Fine Dining, and then independently as the Flying Fish Monger. The fish has been delivered, early in the morning on market days, by Snowdens of Cardiff, and so as fresh as could possibly be. The stall has been very popular with no other comparable supply in the area. Running a stall twice a month is a considerable commitment and since Lee has now a regular job, increasingly difficult to sustain. Paul, from Ty Mawr, agreed to take over in order to secure a more regular presence at the market but the demand has fallen to the extent he is no longer able to continue. There will be a search to find a suitable replacement but in the meantime, regrettably, there will not be a fish stall at the Usk Farmers' Market.
