Celia Thomas News from Penrhiw Farm
Hello
Well we survived Storm Emma and the "Beast from the East" - somehow ! We all have arms several inches longer from carrying buckets of water, lots of repairs to carry out - dry stone walls do not like snow laden strong winds, fallen trees to clear up and sheds to clean out - the snow blew in everywhere and we wonder if there was more snow in the sheds than on the fields ! All the livestock were fine just a bit bored being stuck in sheds.
So back to markets once again - Rhiwbina on Friday, Usk and St Fagans on Saturday and Riverside on Sunday. Graham will be in Porthcawl a week Saturday - 24th March. The usual range of produce. Eggs are still in short supply - there is a new batch of young hens but they are taking their time starting to lay. It's the aftershock from "The Beast" ! We seem to have a HUGE demand for the eggs so the arrival of small eggs can't come soon enough
