Bread at the market

Since the last market, which marked the end of our bread supply from Totoise Bakery,  the search has been on to find a suitable replacement.  Messages have been sent to bakers who have previously applied to join the market and, so far, we have had a positive response from two.  Elm Tree Food has been attending the market with a range of pies and has, in the last year, acquired the premises of a tradtional bakery in Newport known for many years as Griffiths Bakery. This was an  independent business producing bread on the premises using traditional methods.  Under the new ownership of Elm Tree  Bakery the range has expanded and is being sold at other Farmers' Markets. Elm Tree bakery will be attending both the markets in June.  Another bakery, the long established Caroline's Real Bread Company, will join the market  in July on a rota basis with Elm Tree, so together, offering an increased range of breads available to us at the market.
