5th July Penrhiw Farm

Hello from a very dry Penrhiw.  We actually had rain yesterday - enough to spoil the hay making plans but not enough to quench the parched fields.    We have brown fields instead of green and which are going to take some time to recover. Thankfully still have grass for the cows on the old meadows but even they are getting dry.   Cefn Coed is actually better off - deeper soils and more rain has fallen.   

Busy weekend of markets ahead.  The usual Rhiwbina and Riverside on Friday and Sunday with Usk and Tonteg on Saturday.
